God is my Strength!

"Someone reminded me of another post I had made quite awhile ago regarding heavenly protection. This time I truly believe it was the Holy Spirit guiding me. You'll see why.

It was a weeknight and my wife and I had been looking for a new sofa for weeks. She had been to Penney's and saw a fantastic couch that she wanted me to see. Because our schedules were in conflict I told her I'd stop by the store after work and then come home. Later that day she called and said to forget about looking at the sofa, we could do it another time. I told her no, it needs to get done so I'll do it and then be home. I was tired of looking and had wanted to get this over with. It may have been the sixth store we'd looked at, but she was sold on it, so I had to go look at it.

The mall I was going to was Rosedale SC just north of Minneapolis. It was not my regular route and I didn't like driving on 35W, especially the bridge. It was rickety and felt like it moved and swayed when I'd drive across it. As I got into my car I dreaded the nasty commute up 35W. I had many co-workers who took that route daily, and I knew it was terrible. Just as I was about to veer onto 35W north I changed my mind. I decided to go look at some electronics on the other side of the cities, closer to my home. I wasn't sure why but as hard pressed as I was to see this sofa I figured I'd blow it off and go look at some TVs. So not like me at all! I'm not an electronics geek and when I have my mind set to do something, it doesn't change too easily.

As I arrived at the electronics store I was listening to the radio and heard that the 35W bridge had collapsed! I ran inside the store to see the footage on the TVs. That was the route I was going to take to see the sofa! There is a very good possibility I could've been on that bridge when it collapsed. By God's grace I believe He redirected my path to protect me from that horrible accident. We'll really never know, but I'd rather not know, versus being there, or close to the mayhem.

Thanks FuzzyM for reminding me about this. I can sit here today and praise God for his protection!"
